Rex Madsen is originally from Ephraim, Utah and is currently based in Murray, Utah. He creates finely turned bowls from rare and highly figured tropical and exotic woods, showcasing striking natural patterns and the unique beauty found in materials often overlooked. His passion for woodworking began with a class that sparked a lifelong fascination with transforming raw wood into distinctive works of art. When he’s not in the studio, you can find him enjoying sports, reflecting his roots in a small farming community, or dedicating time to serving others through his work as a retired lawyer and law professor providing legal assistance to those in need.
