Marty Ricks is originally from Rexburg, Idaho and is currently based in Mapleton, Utah. He creates oil paintings, primarily focused on landscapes, drawing deeply from his early years exploring rivers and wild places near his home, where experiences like fishing and duck hunting first shaped his connection to the land. His work reflects a lifelong relationship with nature and the memories tied to those formative environments. When he’s not painting, he channels his creativity into songwriting. An ongoing passion that began with a humorous Christmas song for his wife and has since evolved into a collection of personal, reflective pieces inspired by their life together.
