Kelly Ball is the crafter behind Appian Wood Studio. He is originally from Murray, Utah and is currently based in South Jordan, Utah. He creates segmented wood-turned pieces, crafting intricate mosaics by cutting and reassembling small, precise sections of wood to highlight its natural variation in color and grain. When he’s not in the studio, you can find him working on crossword puzzles, or even constructing his own, some of which have been published in the Wall Street Journal.
