I have always believed women are the portal between Heaven and Earth. That belief has been shaped and deepened by the women in my own family. Over a lifetime of nurturing my grandmothers and great grandmothers have raised, taught, and shaped a posterity of strong and loving individuals. Their strength and testimonies live on through each child, grandchild, and great grandchild.
With this painting, Holding on to Generations, I wanted to capture the profound influence women have on their children, as well as the love, respect, and admiration that is returned to them.
