“What We Hold” is a visual representation of the vast and varied things women are able to hold, literally and figuratively. Women carry children, grief, friendships, compassion, confidences, we hold hands, groceries, love, pain, the list goes on and on. This painting represents two ideas, First, this painting represents one woman and the many loads that she carries, big and small. Second, many vessels representing the many different women all around us holding their different loads. I hope in this piece you can see every woman and all women and the gift that this sacred holding is to each of us.
